The director of SURGbase is a consultant anaesthetist. We have a strong interest in designing an anaesthetic module to capture and analyse information about anaesthesia-related incidents within a hospital admission. These would usually be linked to the operation, however, may occur post-operatively.

This data would need to integrate with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA)-directed data set, and ideally link directly with the new national anaesthesia audit database.

Using SURGbase would enable the peripheral operative data to be captured directly by the surgical team, and shared with the anaesthetic team (preventing duplication of data).
