At medium-sized Hospitals, SURGbase recommends that Resident Medical Officers are the core data entry point. The inpatient status of all patients is maintained by the Residents, ideally prior to completing the morning round. In return for this diligence, SURGbase produces:
- A comprehensive daily list of all current surgical inpatients, including Demographics, Diagnoses, Procedure(s), and Complications
- Compilation of x-ray / pathology meeting lists, for any given time frame, without the need for collecting patient labels.
- Compilation of weekend / evening “hand-over sheets” to ensure smooth transition.
- Compilation of Unit audits, for any given time frame
