Surgical specialisation
Different specialties require unique datasets to audit appropriately. We do not believe that a single dataset across multiple specialties is at all useful. In many software programs, minor day-stay procedures form an unnecessary burden on data-entry. SURGbase Enterprise tailors its data collection to suit the specialty and the operative intervention.
Within specialties, additional information can be captured when pre-determined criteria are met. Examples of this are operations for cancer, or operations involving a bowel anastomosis.
This ‘conditional auditing’ allows accurate reporting without overloading the screen with a multitude of different fields. It is very clear what needs to be recorded, which eliminates confusion and reduces ‘gaps’ in data.
Surgical logbooks are tailored to the relevant College of Surgery, to produce appropriate reports for trainees.
Reports are tailored to individual specialties, using the same core framework to standardize outputs.
